Days before he was confirmed as a carrier of Covid-19, Hamdan Hashmuddin began to have trouble breathing.
Hamdan said it started with a fever, followed by a dry cough and shortness of breath.
At that time, the 31-year-old said he was still waiting for the test results and unsure of his status.
“I decided to go for a test after my parents were found to be positive for Covid-19.
“My father was in close contact with a Covid-19 patient at a government-linked company meet in late February, ” he said in a video interview to share his experience and to urge the public to adhere to the movement control order (MCO).
Hamdan said after his parents were found to be positive, the agony for his family started.
“The symptoms of the virus slowly emerged. At that time, I preferred to be asleep rather than awake because of the high fever.
“When I got to know that I was positive, I was already in extreme pain and struggling to breathe, ” he added.
The drive to Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar in Seremban from his house in Nilai was a harrowing experience. “I was in deep pain inside the ambulance, which was travelling during rush hour.
